In Short...

An environmental expert with 15 years experience, I work with organisations in the EU and UK to understand their environmental impacts and improve environmental performance. My key areas of expertise are Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001 and EMAS - the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme), carbon footprinting and reduction, green procurement, green IT, employee engagement and environmental reporting. I combine in-depth environmental expertise with strong project management, training and communication skills. My strength lies in my ability to bring people, ideas and organisational requirements together to create an understanding of the environmental issues and develop plans, teams etc. to address them. I am an associate member of the Institute for Environmental Management and Assessment (A.I.E.M.A.).

Experience Highlights...

Environmental Manager, the Guardian : developed environmental and carbon monitoring, strategy, and reporting - including newspaper lifecycle carbon footprint, 10:10 carbon reduction plan and Carbon Trust Standard certification - established good environmental practice and engaged employees across the business

Lead EMS consultant, European Commission : supported the EC on implementing EMS in 5 divisions with 3,500 staff and 10 buildings, resulting in EMAS certification and follow-up auditing and training work

EMS consultant and trainer, KWI Consultants : for clients such as the corporate HQ of Vivendi in Paris, the Belgian ministry of transport in Brussels, local authorities and public service and private companies in Austria

Development of practical environmental guidance for business : e.g. EMAS Toolkit for SMEs funded by the EC, and environmental best practice guide for SME members of Intellect, the UK 's technology trade association
