Social care workers are more likely to be vulnerable to assault than workers in many other occupations -- a simple statement highlighting an issue of concern. This training programme is considered suitable for workers from varied environments but having one thing in common with care workers - contact with the public.

Violence, whether physical or verbal, impacts on us as individuals, as well as our organisations, in terms of: individual injury, demoralisation, potential litigation by staff and clients, poor performance and high staff turnover.

To address these issues and with the aim of assisting employers and employees in conforming with duties outlined in Health & safety legislation, we at dp consultancy (ne) ltd can provide a training programme designed to reduce incidents of aggression and violence whilst increasing staff confidence and feelings of safety. This programme covers aspects of violence reduction and more importantly prevention, it may be described as a "best practice" strategy for managing potentially aggressive individuals.

DOCUMENTATION OF ANY INCIDENT REQUIRING USE OF ‘BREAKAWAY TECHNIQUES'

Documentation can be of vital importance to any organisation, it can be used to evidence good practice within a company. Suitable and sufficient documentation can provide a detailed account of an incident thus allowing appropriate follow-up action to be taken, patterns and trends can be identified, policies and procedures can be assessed and reviewed if necessary to improve the safety of everyone affected by the work of the company. This training provides advice on:

• being accurate, concise and clear.
